Helping dogs to heal and thrive

Welcome

Hi, I'm Lynette, a Galen Canine Myotherapist© and Canine Arthritis Management ambassador. Welcome to K9 Therapies.

Galen Canine Myotherapy© offers a wide range of benefits for our canine companions. From pain relief to improved mobility and emotional well-being, this hands-on therapy has the potential to greatly enhance the lives of our furry friends.

My passion is supporting dogs that are suffering with musculoskeletal issues such as orthopaedic conditions like arthritis or hip/elbow dysplasia, or soft-tissue injuries due to age, illness, or injury, to be the best that they can be.

I specialise in improving joint and muscle health through specialist massage techniques and gentle manipulation that work at a cellular level, influencing the surrounding environment and treating the entire dog rather than just the affected area. This can relieve tension, reduce pain and improve overall wellbeing, leading to increased mobility and reduced discomfort.

I cover areas of the Surrey Hills around Hindhead, Godalming, Guildford, Woking and the surrounding areas.

Myotherapy can benefit dogs of all ages and breeds including pets, working dogs, and athletes. It is particularly beneficial for dogs with chronic conditions such as arthritis, spondylosis or hip/elbow dysplasia as well as soft tissue injuries such as strains and sprains.

It is especially effective on older dogs and the symptoms that come with ageing.

Myotherapy has both physical and psychological benefits, assisting in pain management for orthopaedic issues, rehabilitating muscle injuries, enhancing mobility and activity levels, strengthening the immune system, and reducing stress, anxiety, and depression.

Working with the whole body and addressing areas of imbalance results in a happier and healthier dog.

Treatment process

Each session is tailored to suit your dog's specific needs, with improvements to mobility, activity levels and pain management often seen within three treatments.

I use Positive PACT, a treatment approach that gives dogs autonomy over their body, establishing a relationship of trust. This is especially effective for muscular issues that would otherwise resist treatment.
